self motivation..friends

In spite of the fact that a devoted frindship is one of the most sacred things in this world, there is scarcely anything of such value that we take so little pains to cultivate and keep. Nor is there anything of such inestimable value which we abuse so much by neglect.
Who can estimate the value of the uplifting influence of a friend? A loyal friend is one of man's greatest stimulators. The devotion of such a friend is not affected in the least by a fortune or the lack of it. As a matter of fact, they often prove their worthiness more in times of adversity than prosperity.
Each of us should devote more time to the cultivation of real friendship. One of the reasons that more people do not have more friendss is that they have so little offer. On the other hand, we have a tendency to expext everything from our friends. Enduring frindship should be based upon a mutual respect for what one is rather than for what one has. A true friend is one who builds us up instead of destroying our confidence in self. Such an upbuilding friend can cause us to double our power of accomplishment.
